Capstone: Your Campfire Set
Step 10 of 10 · Beginner Ukulele Path
Build a six-chord toolkit and a song set you can play start to finish.
What you'll learn
- Command the six-chord campfire kit: C, G, Am, F, Dm, and G7
- Build a three-to-five-song set from the ukulele songbook
- Play each song start to finish at one steady tempo
- Sing and strum without watching your fretting hand
- Know where next: intermediate routines, scales, and ear training
Time to cash everything in. The campfire kit is six chords — C, G, Am, F, Dm, and G7 — and it covers the vast majority of singalongs ever passed around a fire. You know most of them already; the routine below cycles all six until no change makes you look down.
Now build a set: pick three to five songs from the ukulele songbook — mix easy two-chord tunes with three-chord classics — and play each one start to finish at one steady tempo. Stopping to fix mistakes is practice; playing through them is performance, and a set list is the difference between "I'm learning ukulele" and "hand me the uke, I know some songs". The real graduation test: sing and strum a whole song without looking at your fretting hand.
Where next? The ukulele practice hub has intermediate routines waiting — the four-chord pop loop and sus & add9 color — and melody is calling: start with the C major pentatonic scale on your own fretboard, and sharpen the link between fingers and ears in the ear trainer. Happy strumming.
