Beginner ukulele path FAQ
- Which ukulele size does this path work for?
- Soprano, concert, and tenor ukuleles all share the same G–C–E–A tuning and chord shapes, so the path works identically on all three. Baritone ukulele is tuned D–G–B–E like a guitar's top four strings — its shapes are different, so start from the baritone chord library instead.
- Do I need to read music to learn ukulele?
- No — everything in the path uses chord boxes and chord-over-lyric charts. Step 3 teaches you to read a four-string chord box in about a minute, and every song in the songbook shows a G–C–E–A diagram for each chord it uses.
