Scales to Play Over G#5

Any scale that includes every one of those 2 tones fits over it — from the root G#, that means G# Major, G# Natural Minor, G# Melodic Minor, G# Harmonic Minor, G# Major Pentatonic, G# Minor Pentatonic, G# Blues, G# Rock 'n' Roll, G# Dorian, G# Phrygian, G# Lydian, G# Mixolydian, G# Dorian Bebop, G# Mixolydian Bebop, G# Half Whole Diminished, G# Spanish, G# Gypsy Major and G# Gypsy Minor. Start with the first scale listed: it is the most common choice, and the others color the same chord tones differently.
G#5 is also diatonic to 6 major keys: B major (relative minor G#m), C# major (relative minor A#m), D# major (relative minor Cm), E major (relative minor C#m), F# major (relative minor D#m), G# major (relative minor Fm).
